The Arbor 2024: A Weekend in the Columbia River Gorge!

Theme: “Connecting with God’s Heart”
~ A Renewal Retreat ~

"Arbor" retreats are events we offer at various locations around Oregon. This particular retreat is an invitation to relax and enjoy being a child of God; to accept the truth that we are his beloved, and that he offers us his abundant life as a gift.

Date:  October 11-13, 2024
We picked this date because fall is beautiful here in Oregon, as God's creation expresses itself in a variety of colors.

Place:  The historic Menucha Retreat Center (on the south side of the Columbia River Gorge, in Corbett, Oregon, inside the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area)

Why we chose this location:  Menucha originally was the country estate of department-store magnate Julius Meier. The historic main hall on the grounds was the family home, and many other residences and buildings have been added over the years. After he died, the property was purchased by the First Presbyterian Church of Portland to be used as a retreat center for activities that stir and touch the soul. As a result, Menucha hosts a variety of spiritually-focused retreats, as well as special events that focus on the arts; nurturing the creative gifts that God has placed within His children.

The Meier's chose the name "Menucha" from the Old Testament.

Pronounced “Men-oo-ka”, it conveys “rebuilding,” “renewing,” or “restoring.” In Psalm 23 it is translated as “still” in the line “He leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul."

Menucha sits on approximately 100 acres of rolling green land - much of it in its natural wooded state, while portions have been beautifully and informally planted. Guests are invited to hike the trails, stroll in the gardens, take a prayer walk in the labyrinth, and enjoy other amenities such as the volleyball and tennis courts. (Click here to see some photos of their grounds and tour their website).

Our weekend together will include brief times of instruction, individual times for reflection, group discussion, interactive spiritual exercises...and great food! Menucha is known for their excellent meals, and we will enjoy them together inside their historic main hall.

Menucha truly is a special place for restoration. So we hope you'll join us for this weekend experience of Rest, Reflection & Renewal.

Cost:  $330 per person. Your registration includes lodging (2 per room), 5 meals, and all retreat materials. (If you will be flying in to the Portland airport, please let us know. We may be able to arrange transportation for you to/from Menucha).

NOTE:  Registration is limited to 8 women, so please sign up today! If an "out of stock" message appears below (instead of "pay now"), it indicates that the event is full and no more space is available. If so - we're sorry you will miss it and we hope you can join us for a future event!
