About Julie

I love to share life’s journey with Jesus. I experience his grace fresh every morning and revel in the intimacy of walking together and seeing him at work in my life.

I feel a sense of wonder at a married life of decades that continues to bring great joy and deep growth; I am am grateful for the unique gifting of our three grown children and five young grandchildren. Their interaction in my life is a treasure.

God invites me into a sense of delight and adventure daily, as I write, pray and spend time with others.

As a Pastor and trained Spiritual Director, my desire is to help others enrich their prayer life, develop their potential, and encounter God through his word. I feel a sense of wonder at sharing other’s journeys, meeting with them as individuals, small groups or as leadership teams.

I believe God nourishes me through words, through beauty, and through his world of creation. I entered adult life teaching English at the elementary level, but when the opportunities arose, dialogued with students about God and prayer. My love of words and beauty continued through leading summer art classes in the park for my children and others, creating cards of my photography, and using my calligraphy and needlework skills.

My love of children and shaping their language morphed into listening to the heart language of those who I served as a pastor on a church staff. This experience led to producing a devotional set, and writing numerous articles to encourage people to know God and be known.

Over the years I’ve written two blogs; one alone (www.broensbridge.blogspot.com), and one with my husband (www.thevelveteenpastors.blogspot.com).These blogs no longer are updated, but you can read the archived posts – many of them highlighting timeless truths – that can help you move forward in the life of faith.

If you would like to be regularly encouraged and refreshed in your faith, please subscribe to my letter, “Your Spiritual Treasure Hunt”. Just enter your name and email address in the box on the right-hand side of the page.

Delightful “free” moments for me? Tea and a good book, spending time with family or dear friends, and camping in God’s great world.
